About Sebule

Sebule is a furniture maker and home store in Nairobi. The name is the Swahili word for the sitting room, the room where a Kenyan home receives its guests. That is where we started: with one sofa, built properly.

What we make

We design every piece ourselves and build most of them in our own workshop, in solid mvule, mahogany and Meru oak, with cane woven by hand and fabric chosen to stand up to family life. Baskets, lighting and smaller pieces come from workshops we have worked with for years.

How we work

• Made to last. Solid wood, proper joints and frames that can be covered again. Our furniture is guaranteed for up to three years.
• Made here. The timber is Kenyan, and so are the people who work it.
• Priced plainly. Every price includes VAT. Delivery is one fee for the whole order, and you see it before you pay.
